Christian religious life is more than praying. It’s also managing stuff for mass, finding places to stock up spare chairs, having a nice coffee under the watchful eyes of Christ. Or having parishers pay for precious stained glass windows, and permitting them to boast about it.

Christelijk leven is meer dan bidden. Het is ook benodigdheden voor de eucharistieviering op orde houden, plek zoeken voor een overschot aan stoelen stoelen, een kopje koffie drinken onder het waakzame oog van Christus. Of parochianen laten betalen voor kostbare glasramen en hen toelaten om daar ijdel over te zijn.
